Landscapes & Livelihoods ~ Land Mgmt Workshop
The Relationship Between Conservation & Wealth

March 26, 2010, Laredo, Texas
A one-day Intro to Holistic Management, presented by Holistic Management Texas, a statewide nonprofit working toward healthy land for a sustainable future.

Love of landscapes is a strong, sometimes urgent feeling. As a culture, we dream of owning land; some of us plan yearly vacations or hunting trips to be on the land. Once there, we experience an escape from the mundane grind of daily work activities. Almost like entering another reality, we slowly leave behind tension and worries and allow the beauty and feelings like solace and serenity to emerge, as if they had been stored away, and wrap themselves around us until we are almost giddy. We feel better, we sleep better, we laugh more.

Something happens to people on the land and because of this, Texas landowners have a special and unique opportunity to build and sustain wealth based on their landscape: an opportunity to learn the magical connection between Landscapes and Livelihoods.

In this one-day introduction to Holistic Management, we will explore this magical connection – what we call holism – and learn how to apply this new knowledge to management practices that help us build biological wealth and convert it into dollars.

During our afternoon session, we’ll play with “new tools” that you’ll take home and be able to use immediately. Holistic Management is a process with steps. This one-day learning experience will help you decide if more training in Holistic Management is the course for you.

Holistic Management is a process that includes defining your whole, discovering your goal, creating a plan, testing each decision, monitoring progress and making the needed adjustments to stay on course. There are wonderful tools to use in understanding and managing the ecosystem processes, as well as in the financial and social arenas.

Not much to loose. Learn something new and useful and have fun. Why not join us?
